Jeffrey started his professional career in 1982 as an advocate and spent three (3) years appearing before the Courts and advising clients on a variety of matters. In 1985 he took up a position as an in-house attorney-at-law with a petroleum marketing company and remained there for over eight (8) years ending up as the legal manager and company secretary.

In addition to gaining experience on a wide variety of commercial issues to do with petroleum marketing in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region, Jeffrey gained an appreciation of how legal advice is factored into the wider decision making of a corporation.

In 1994 he joined the Firm’s Commercial Department with a litigation portfolio in admiralty, tax and employment matters. He now practices entirely within the commercial arena, while continuing to be available to his litigation partners for consultation on tax and employment litigation. Jeffrey is also a former Managing Partner of the Firm having served in that capacity from 2010 to 2014.

He represents a wide variety of mainly business clients including those involved in upstream and downstream petroleum, petro-chemicals, metallics, manufacturing, contracting, marketing and distribution and banking and insurance. He regularly advises on the corporate and tax structuring of enterprises in Trinidad and Tobago, the formation and registration of corporate entities, the conduct of their affairs, joint ventures, share and asset transfers, a wide variety of commercial agreements and on employment and pension matters.

Jeffrey is a reader and gardener and makes the time to enjoy both.
