Mark joined the Firm as a Partner in 1986 and was appointed as Head of Litigation in 1998. He maintains a thriving litigation practice as an Advocate and appears before all the local Courts. He has also acted as an arbitrator in commercial disputes.

Mark’s practice focuses on the business law aspects relating to the establishment and operation of large commercial and industrial undertakings in Trinidad and Tobago, ranging from Government negotiations, fiscal incentives, oil and gas transactions, alternative dispute resolution, litigation and taxation. Mark has been active in various foreign direct investment projects and is regularly involved in negotiations with government and state enterprises. The breadth of Mark’s practice enables him to give both incisive legal guidance as well as practical commercial advice to his clients.

His clients include international exploration and production companies, downstream industrial undertakings, international and local financial institutions, shipping concerns, manufacturers and processors and local conglomerates that are active in multiple sectors of the economy.

Mark is an avid contributor to various legal publishers. He is a former correspondent for Business Guardian and has published articles on tax for the Centre of Legal Studies, Salzburg, Austria and on civil procedure in the Lawyer, the publication of the Trinidad and Tobago Law Association. He was also the consultant to the Trinidad and Tobago section of Carter-Ruck on Libel & Slander 4th ed. and has authored and co-authored articles on Trinidad and Tobago law for various other publications.

He is listed in Band 1 of the Chambers Global, World’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Mark is married with three lovely daughters. He is a keen photographer and has contributed several photographs to this very web-site.
