Kurt joined the Firm in 1986 and was made Partner in 1992. He now serves as the Firm’s Managing Partner and head of the Commercial Department.

His area of speciality is finance, banking and corporate/commercial. He advises a broad range of domestic and international clients in commercial finance transactions, structured credit transactions, leveraged lending transactions, banking, sovereign and commercial bond issues, mergers and acquisitions, securitization transactions and aircraft financing.

Kurt seeks always to gain a deeper level of understanding of his clients’ objectives and products so as to provide a quality service in an efficient and timely manner. He focuses on solutions that are innovative, practical, and tax and cost driven. In so doing, he maintains the Firm’s objectives and track record of delivering advices, which are structurally sound, meet the clients’ objectives and stand the test of time.

Kurt has earned a sterling reputation for his commercial work and has consistently been recognised each year as a leader in Chambers Global, The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business since 2004.  He has also contributed to various legal publications, the latest being his co-authorship of the Trinidad and Tobago chapters in Chambers and Partners, Banking & Finance Law and Practice (2019) and in Dr. G. McBain and Others (eds.), Aircraft Finance: Registration, Security and Enforcement (Sweet & Maxwell, 2018).

Kurt believes in healthy lifestyle and works out at the gym.  He also enjoys travelling.
